Despite widespread outcry from the public and civil society, the Finance Bill 2023 was passed by Parliament on 14th June 2023.
Notwithstanding this setback, the Okoa Uchumi coalition notes the importance of still sharing a clear position on the contentious issues related to the Bill, including the introduction of the previously proposed housing levy as a housing tax which would require a new legislative procedure.
The coalition, which Okoa Mombasa is a member of, has drafted the petition below to highlight these issues. Kindly support us by signing the petition and dropping it off at your local MP’s office. Please also circulate it to your friends, acquaintances and other networks in solidarity against the Finance Bill 2023.
